Brassius was suicidal and making desperate art slop to get by and Hassel was a fellow artist that felt bad for him and tried to help get him out of his rut, so Brassius respects him a lot for getting him out of that painful chapter of his life. I get so annoyed seeing people that want them to be gay make shit up about them being roommates, etc and try to pass it off like a game of telephone as evidence for them being gay, when they were never roommates or some of the other shit that gets spread around.
