>>56385623The teams are diverse because the format is still new and, outside of some unofficial tournaments, there haven't been any major competitions yet. That said, even in the current "diverse" state it does seem like every team past 1350 on showdown is arch-rain, mouse-ape, or dondozo-tatsugiri. And, because of how volatile those are, you either need to lead your counter to them or lose to them, or they call your bluff and lead their counter counter. Most matches feel like they're determined turn 1 more so than they were in Reg G.
Like, I'm not bemoaning a new format, and especially one trying something new, but I did feel like Reg G had more diversity and slower play. You could make a viable team out of any of top 7 or 8 restricteds. There was more switching, more vying for board positioning. Reg H is just fast and read heavy.
