It's kinda annoying cause it brought in a lot of newfags who didn't know about vocaloid prior to the gacha game, but regardless, it's going through a second peak right now. It may not be the same as the late 00's early 10's peak, but it's still doing great right now.
Similarly Pokémon quality has been decreasing, but it's doing the best it's ever done sales-wise since gen 1. For better or for worse, both Pokémon and Vocaloid are going through huge popularity booms right now, so the collab timing is as good as it can be.
