>>56390922Hoenn, is just really mediocre. Nostalgia goggles and battle frontier blinded a lot of people. It's actually a pretty decent pokemon game until you go east of Mauville. Distribution of pokemon drops of a cliff so fast apart from a few gen 1 and 2 mons in the safari zone. Level scaling is shit. The important battles are shit until the champion (with the exception of emerald Tate and Liza). 7.8/10 is a meme, but it definitely has too many water routes that are almost entirely empty with 0 variety between them. Pokemon never really does water routes that great (not to sound like a bort, but Unova route 17/18 are probably the best you can do), but luckily there are only a few in most games. It's a shitty region that should have been obvious 2 seconds after designing the map. If gamefreak had any creativity outside of mons and character designs, they could've pulled it off, but they're still gamefreak.
