Most people write it off for its quad weaknesses, but it's surprisingly good in game. Rock/Ground is a godly STAB combo.

Never bothered either until I played Dragonsden Team Rocket Edition ROM hack, he's your starter and it's heavily encouraged to evolve him into Golbat and Crobat.

I've used multiple Crobats over the years, and Zubat always needs some patience to be worth it. Once it gets Wing Attack things get a lot better, and they become very dependable Pokémon
