What's it like to be new to this series?

I've been here since the beginning, and so every generation has it's own distinct and individual "flavor" to me as I register them throughout the years.
I autistically know every Pokemon, their typings, how to use them, where to catch them, etc.

For a newcomer, this all must be very overwhelming, even someone whose first game was gen 6 or 7.
