>Megas
Probably the best. Not many of them are better than the un-mega'd form, but at least half are equal, with a few that are worse. Terribly implemented into the games, locking 90% of the mega stones to the post game is the stupidest decision they could've made. Balance wise, much better in a smogon tiering environment, where specific megas can go up or down in tiers, than in VGC, where you want to build around a handful of centralizing options. I think there's a decent mix of blatant shilling and more out there picks, though there should be more from gens 5 and 6.
>Z-moves
Eh. Used better in the games than megas. The dancing is whatever, but it doesn't break it for me. If this had been the only gimmick, I wouldn't care too much if they only had it for one gen.
>Tera
Not to my taste. I feel that a pokemon's typing is really important to it's identity, any being able to change it removes some of that, like if you could temporarily change a pokemon's ability to any one you choose once per fight. Has some fun gameplay stuff, like using a pokemon that doesn't match a gym's type and changing into that type, even if that does make the game even easier. Very ugly, I hate the hats. Might be the "deepest" gameplay wise, but I don't like how it plays.
>Dynamax/Gmax
Boring, uninteresting, and ugly, what a combo. Gmax has even worse favouritism than megas.
None of them are actually good, but at least they aren't strictly getting worse.
