>>56410806No need to force it, but I like the games because they follow the tradition, but challenged the idea of whether pokemon being kept by humans was inherently a good thing or not with N and team Plasma. It doesn't amount to anything in the end, but I thought it was the last good story where the villain motivations made sense. Team Flare was okay, but it was never really clear what they wanted beyond "kill everything" which is a dumb suicidal motivation and seems stupid for rich powerful people to do like Lysandre and his cadre. Then we began the slow move towards battling kids playing hooky in SV. Black and White is the edgy/deep entry in the main series, but doesn't go overboard the way a lot of romhacks do with outright murder and torture.
As far as gameplay, it's pretty similar to what you get in gen 1-4 but it plays faster than those. The health bars move quickly and the animations are short and punchy.
That's me selling the game, but if that doesn't sound great, there's no reason to force yourself to play them I guess. I loved them when they came out though.
