They disappear into the past/future, which we also learn are probably parallel dimensions rather than the same timeline of the player. They most likely will never come back except in cameos or maybe mentioned in a dialogue line here and there in future games, just like AZ and the ancient kingdom from XY, or all the Infinity Energy bullshit with the Sea Mauville documents from ORAS.

We can infer this based on Heath speaking with someone and having his own handwriting despite not writing it himself.

The mechanics of the AI going into the time machine and the professor meeting the player at the crystal pool are the same. It's not literally interfering with time in a linear fashion, but the professor and by extension the AI think it does. Hence, why they "LITERALLY tell us" that.

Heath obtaining knowledge of the book can be explained even easier with mere time travel. what you're setting forth does nothing to prove pocket dimensions or imagination.

No one's arguing about "pocket dimensions" or "imagination" other than the professor/AI themselves when they talk about the complexities of space-time or their dream. It has zero relevance in meta discussion of what's actually going on.

This is before they ever had a functional Time Machine or seen a paradox at all. Meanwhile, their future AI self actually knows what's going on and describes time travel only. The young professor was only speculating about their origin.

This is headcanon. Their AI self has the same memories and knowledge of the professor, which they explain. This is fully consistent with the younger professor hypothesizing the paradox origin based on what they knew from Occulture. In-game it's confirmation bias, but WE know that Terapagos connects timelines. That's why it shouldn't be hard to understand what's going on with the AI after they go into the time machine because by the Crystal Pool we already know how this power works and explains events earlier in the game.

Yes, it's just that. A hypothesis. However, if the AI is in sync with the actual professor, than the actual professor, once actually using the Time Machine and knowing paradox's origins, ONLY refers to different points in time, not timelines.

Aaand this is where you go completely off the rails. Different points in time and timelines are the same thing.
If you interfere with a point in time you are creating a new timeline. To the professor, this means a timeline where the time machine never interfered and one where the time machine pulled a Pokemon. Either way, you are dealing with different timelines.

Except that's simply where the professor believes them to have come from based on the hypothesis they described at the crystal pool. We know in-game that the explanation is based on confirmation bias because every point after Area Zero refutes the idea.
