Not the same anon, but I read through the threads a couple of fellows posted. Pokemon not speaking honestly made the world of the main series and anime rather dull in comparison to the other monster series. Majority of the humans we encountered in said anime and manga were uninteresting. They were only points of contention because they had Pokémon; why not just cut out the middle man?
Let's compare that to say Monster Rancher, or the forth season of Digimon/Digimon World 1; majority of the monsters in said series spoke with few a couple of exceptions, the interactions with said creatures and the cast were far more exciting than the Pokémon anime and games.
This is one of many reasons I dropped the series altogether, after a certain point. Mystery dungeon honestly handled everything much better.
