Pokemon that use tools are the coolest. Shooting flames or water or vines or whatever out of their mouth is lame magic bullshit, it's better when they just have a big bone or stick or something that they use to beat the shit out of other pokemon. Who's your favorite tool user?

The fact that they use tools in a fantasy world is what makes them so cool. They could be shooting poisonous spores out of their ass but they're rushing your stupid pokemon with a club instead. It's the closest we can get to just putting a man on the field. They're awesome.

But if every pokemon used external tools would it still be the same level of fantasy? Should all pokemon be like Alolan Marowak with element + tool? If all no-tools pokemon started using tools to stop being lame wouldn't the current tool users no longer be able to be cool since they wouldn't have opponents with only ranged elements to charge into? Would the current tool users become the lame ones for not having an element to pair with their tool?

I only like them when there's a feasible way for them to stash away their tool when not in use. Like for example Zacian uses her ponytails as a scabbard for the sword and that's cool.

No, they wouldn't be as special if all the other pokemon used tools. But the other pokemon don't use tools, therefore the tool-users are very cool. Like I said it's the fact that they use a weapon or something to fight some monster thing that shoots fire out of its eyeballs, it's like a guy fighting a beast.

That and mons who magically create tools during battle.

I grew to dislike Tinkaton as they didn't make the hammer part of its body or made it a metal manipulator that creates hammers by will(same series with elemental blades, elemental gutars, elemental cudgels >>56420829 etc)
