It's gonna be a win for Roy. But I am more curious about the reason why they'd have a battle with those two right after the explorers and whatever crisis goes down at the academy. I know that the Grusha rematch will happen (Would be weird to have that the only one out of the three to not happen)

Popping in with a waving Penny after seeing the 66th Episode Title. If it actually shows Penny fending off the system intrusion that I think it is then it's another pluspoint of the anime showing something that the games didn't bothered with or just half-arsed. I mean opening a grand total of only a few doors while providing LP points off-screen in the game seems is just lame for a supposed hacker character so I would appreciate it if they add atleast a few segments of Penny doing more than just that.

Idk, Roy definitely has built up some good momentum after the early days of him mainly losing his notable battles, the latest battle again Ryme was pretty gud.
Liko might rebounce from her losing streak there, it would be in character for Roy to try that out if the other attempts are anything to go by. I mean they Did sorta got surprised while trying to climb up the mountain to cheer Liko up so he'd do with the next best thing he could come up with under the circumstances.

So it's actually happening after so long? The two do get to talk, work together and actually (somewhat) understand where they both stand? I thought when I first saw the name of that episode without the preview that they would do their own thing separately but would think of the other.

I join the position of an anon who already said their piece on that matter and go with Croc's inevitable evolution. Would be a good closing bow on that chapter to both Roy's progression as well as the next step towards his strength collecting hunt. Croc evolving would thematically play into the tone both Roy and Croc have set in regards to their goal of getting Fug's recognition.

Here's hoping it's a good pay off. The first three episodes of HZ are peak anipoke in large part because the dynamic between Amethio and Liko was so different than other hero-villain things that Pokemon's used. I'll admit being a bit chafed that Liko was actually standing up to Amethio on her own now, since it still feels too soon, but I'll give the writers credit for having them not fight directly since episode 6.

I really don't get the deal with SV. Either a handful of scenes get black-screened or off-handedly mentioned. I mean shit, Grusha's accident for instance wasn't even shown in the games but knowing it from previous gens, it would pan the camera around to make it look like Grusha is laying down on the ground when in reality he's just clipping halfway in the ground.

Liko from Paldea is the new protagonist alongside Roy. They're looking for six Pokémon nicknamed the six heroes who were traveling with a ancient adventurer named Lucius to find a glittering paradise named Rakua, with the legendary Pokémon Terapagos being in the center of the mess. Ok, started the first set of episodes up until the 8th episode and I like what I see so far. Liko is ok but Roy takes the cake, Friede makes a cool freelancing professor and Amethio sounds kinda rejected because of Friede constantly paying attention elsewhere.
I think the Shiny Rayquaza storyline can go places depending on how much they're willing to incorperate between the source material as well as the liberty of the own plot.

I think you meant to reply to another anon but I'll take it and say that they often made distinctions between characters often enough to make that similarities of older characters redundant. Nice hearing your thoughts Mayanon. I caught up recently with HZ and I was worried about Liko being a doormat or a non battler protagonist (given some posts I've been reading here) but I didn't see her as that. I do think that she is very passive at the beginning but I can understand that because of her personality and being and newbie trainer. I appreciated that it was recognized as a character flaw later on. I also like that Liko is great at observing the environment and make strategies out of that during battles, it's fitting for an "introverted shy" kind of character. The main trio as a whole is getting bits of development even though it can feel very slow mostly because of the anipoke format.

Nta but I am kinda split on the pacing. On one hand, it's nearly guaranteed everytime to have a justified payoff in execution or progression. On the other hand, it's can come off as jarring with the usual quick nature that comes with stuff like battles which with the exception of core battles are fast.

Why Bulk Up? To tank a physical hit while also activating its Weak Armour ability to raise Speed. In anime, Bulk Up and Iron Defense can be use to tank attack as shown by Kukui's Incineroar. Dragon Claw is for specifically use against Rayquaza.

I think it's gonna be a mixture. Carmine mostly stays the same with her progression. Kieran on the other hand effectively has a lot more flexibility in his narrative since the Ogerpon most likely won't join anyone immediately but she will still reject Kieran's desire of her. Depending on where it will head next, Kieran will ultimately find his confidence through a different method without falling completely into the rabbithole.

Continuing from yesterday, finished the episodes 13 to 20. And I am somewhat surprised that they literally made a scene of Liko walking into a dark alleyway, right after spontaneously getting a notification about the thing she needs to lure her back into the town, get hypnotized by the adult guy who set it up, gets chased around by the population of the town she got lost in as part of a collaboration of two streamers while occasionally sending Pokemon attacks into them as a means of self-defense, jumped over to another build despite her short memory loss and then realizing that the guy took "something precious" from her.
I am gonna be surprised if they're gonna continue rolling that snowball down.

My previous assumption of Dot becoming a dork was off the mark a bit but her getting more screentime was the bigger twist to me. And the end of the 16th episode where she confessed her secret to Liko was a interesting choice of framing.

Not much to add about the stuffing related to Galar since I haven't touched the 8th generation (Might do it at a later date), but that old guy was nailed Liko's problem down right on the spot.

Given the Horizons takes place at a bit of an ambiguous position timeline wise with the games (Penny is post game Penny but we also have no clue of Team Star even exists while Arven hasn't shown up at all) I have to wonder if the show actually plans to just adapt the DLC plots wholesale.

I assume that RVT will travel to Kitakami to the Timeless Woods to find Kleavor. Either Perrin will also be looking for it or she will be the one who took pictures of the Eight Legends while on her travels. I am interested in seeing how Brier and Carmine react to Terapagos and if Kieran will be showing up in an active capacity and not just as a cameo.

Well, they WERE relevant for a whole 2 arcs and Friede + Cap were holding back Liko and Roy's growth. So I think no one would mind a break from them. Regardless, they're relevant because they are the main trio's ride.

They were fixing their ship. Liko, Roy and Dot also needed some time to get stronger on their own considering that they were always saved by Friede and Cap, that was the purpose of the Terastal arc. I can't say that I adore the RVTs but they are a likeable group of recurring adult side characters which is something new in the series that I appreciate.

I mean is not a trait exclusive to the human characters in the games. The average side character in the anime is literally a walking trope with a splash of seasoning in form of development and/or backstory to not make them boring. You can say that some the travel companions and even Ash himself fall into this as well.
