>>56424674Never because it's not.
>Graphics: Uglier than Gen4 (HGSS especially)
>Region:Boring to explore due to how it is structured. The bridges make it even more forgettable because they're mostly long corridors.
>Characters:Annoying, this is where Gym Leaders start becoming very stereotypical weirdos instead of normal people, the rivals are annoying and the same shit as always just with 3 times the amount of dialogue, the only decent character is N.
>Plot:Undeniably the most interesting and well-written among the first 5 Gens, but it has a lot of lost potential and it is basically just your typical Shonen garbage that pretends to be deep while presenting the usual megalomaniac villain and cheap narrative arc. Again, the only thing that truly saves the plot is N being a well-written character, not the plot per se.
>Pokédex:Too big (151 like Kantooo) which caused them to fill it with several creatures that just come across as weird knockoffs of monsters from previous generations. It also had way too many Legendaries and Mythicals.
Making only new Pokemon available before the post game was also idiotic and forced. B2W2 showed that coexistence was possible in a Gen5 game too, so it was really just a stupid choice that it probably also one of the main reasons why BW flopped.
>Black City/White Forest Gimmick:Stupid in how it was only relevant if you could access the Internet via Wi-Fi which wasn't THAT common yet back then. All if Gen5 gimmicks became useless the moment the servers got discontinued, which was an extremely dumb decision. I didn't have Wi-Fi and White Forest was just an empty room, and so was the online device on the bottom screen, just a waste of space because that stupid thing has zero value in offline.
Gen5 had flopped and it actually deserved it.
It only shines now thanks to the power of nostalgia and regret because many consider what came later worse.
It has little merits of its own.
