Not just a shitty Presents but a shitty couple of years.
At a time where it seemed like they wanted to completely reboot the series to be more like the standard Sun and Moon set it was nice to have a little fanservice to the series' entire history rather than the sanitized and corporate Kanto they want to pretend existed with muh 151.

It was very pretty looking and just a nice showcase of all the characters and moments throughout the franchise. Frontier Brains got mostly left out again, but that's nothing new.

The OC characters with the Pikachu and Eevee were cringey.
The extended Galar promotion without showing any actual story beats was shitty and holds a disproportionate amount of focus in the video solely because it's [new product] and makes the video come off as an advertisement rather than a celebration of Pokémon's history. It dates the video more than it not showing material from games after SwSh.

Other than that, the material was pretty good.

Animation was good, scenes were good, details were good. Especially considering at the time, we were still stuck in sword/shield. Horrible time for the series, but seeing something produced with some genuine love towards it really reminded me that I do still like pokemon, despite everything.
Even now, watching it makes me wish I could feel any of the same amount of care from the mainline.

Let's say you got 9 kids, born 1996, 1999, 2002, 2006, 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019, and 2022. The first five kids are all treated pretty fairly, and then once the sixth kid is born, the focus is mostly between them and the first kid. Then the seventh kid comes and the parents want to celebrate the anniversary of starting a family so they celebrate the first kid. And then the eighth kid comes so that's a reason to celebrate the first kid.

Kanto pandering is not celebrating the franchise, it's celebrating when it was highly profitable.
