No genwarring today loser. All gens bring something unique to the table and are all good because pokemon is good - that's the brilliant design of GameFreak that they ensure each game has something wholly unique to offer.
They blessed us, really. If the new games had battle Frontier and following pokemon and every other laundry list of features, the old games would lose a bit of what made them special.
The new games bring new experiences and focus on different aspects of the concept, like deeper characters and story and better interactions with your mons.

I don't think i've seen anyone else mention this . Creating new gimmicks for every new gen and then completely ignoring those gimmicks on the next new gen is something i personally think needs to change , what's the point of doing this when you know those gimmicks will become irrelevant after like 2-3 years

I agree.
If I want to start the game with only the Poké Balls in my bag, reject the Professor's offer for a starter, and catch whatever I want, let me do that.
If I want to fight a Double or Triple Battle with just 1 Pokémon, let me do that.
If I don't want to catch the raid battle legendary Pokémon during the story, let me do that.

Which is stupid. PSS system was the best thing to come out of gen 6, and it died with it. what we got instead was the stupid festival plaza in gen 7 that was complete ass.
