It’s why I think it would be bigger now that girls would immediately have a femmon that can be marketed towards them while pokemon sits at the height of its popularity.
The games would likely stick with red and green since it’s obvious a game with Primarina on the cover won’t sell to the majority early Gen 1 young male playerbase. What Primarina does is gets the eyes that the game needs on it’s merch and for those eyes to become more immersed in the fandom and craze themselves. This is all moot, of course, since the main vehicle that got people into the craze was the anime. And girls would absolutely be all about Misty’s Brionne/Primarina even if through simple social osmosis.
