Pokken's total roster pre-DLC: 21

Because Harada thought bit was a good idea to make ALMOST all the characters in Pokken just expies to their Tekken equivalent.

it flopped because TPC thought putting a tiny roster of furbait mons would give them easy money at no effort.
they even thought making 2 Pikachu and 2 Mewtwo instead of different pokemon was a good idea lol
they didn't realize that most normies aren't coomers

Smash, Gundam vs Gundam, Dragon Ball, etc.. are all infinitely more successful because they went for fan-service and making sure there's a favorite character included for everyone, not low budget cashgrab that alienated normies to focus on a tiny-base audience

The entire point of the concept was crossing over pokemon to a preexisting fighting game base, hence the literal title. Its the same as mistery dungeon, conquest, puzzle league and probably a few others.

The average Pokemon player doesn't even touch the battle facilities or PvP. They just play the piss easy main game, if they even finish that.

The typical Pokemon is afraid of anything that requires skill or has a learning curve, because they might lose.
