unlike Swooshie, SV’s gameplay has some merit to the point were it’s worth playing. Though if you’re really committed to your no nu-Gen policy there and just want to see the characters there are videos that pretty much show every interaction with every character.

I’d say so, but I’m very devoted to these characters, so your experience might not be the same as mine. I personally love the game, even with all of its shortcomings, but I won’t blame you if you don’t end up liking it. It’s at least worth a shot, in my opinion.
