The exception are the coomers, who weren't really affected by the decline in the quality of the games.
/vp/ isn't unique. Many boards have been in a constant death spiral where

I've just started lurking again after leaving for a few months, and it seems to be a little better than when I left. Fewer genwars, haven't seen any shartyniggers, Shaun seems less active, etc.
