I've long suspected that the average /vp/ user in 2024 doesn't even like or play Pokemon. The board has been slowly rotting since Dexit, most people here now are trolls trolling trolls trolling bots.
The exception are the coomers, who weren't really affected by the decline in the quality of the games.
/vp/ isn't unique. Many boards have been in a constant death spiral where

I've just started lurking again after leaving for a few months, and it seems to be a little better than when I left. Fewer genwars, haven't seen any shartyniggers, Shaun seems less active, etc.
