johto is very historic and cultural, seems a bit country and not as modern as other places. If you aren't of that culture or looking to be/stay immersed in it, then you wouldn't go there.
Kanto would be for the big city life, widely available resources even imported goods, lots of people, always stuff to do, lots of opportunities. Likely very busy, crowded, expensive, also crime rampant (I'm thinking the league, and whatever form of government there is if not them, is corrupt for sure)
Sinnoh seems similar to Johto but cold, and just like anywhere living in say Jubilife or Goldenrod would be like living in any massive city and doesn't reflect the region as a whole. Also everywhere in Pokemon is a utopia and has on par tech somehow except Orre.
Unova... imagining an idealized, utopian version of America with free healthcare... I'd still move to Hoenn.
