That's why the level curve so ungodly terrible compared to every other game in Pokemon, why daily events exist to waste the player's time, why all the new Pokemon look like babyish plush toys or bland animals, why the starters are so fucking lame and underdesigned, why baby pokemon exist, the new pokemon never so up, why all the good TMs take forever to get, why Johto is such a small hick region with no culture, why there is no content or story, why Johto trainers are canonicaly complete shitters compared to KANTOOOO trainers, and why the post game is just butchered KANTOOOOO, Gen 2 was made to be garbage. When anyone on the team tried to come up with something that people with taste would like (like skarmory, the only redeemable aspect of GenPoo), the higher devs forced them to make it impossible to find. Johtimmys were just so completely retarded they didn't realize their intelligence was being insulted so they slurped up tepid water-down flavorless milktoast that is Gen2.
