ive never got the unova not having berry in it criticism. Do people even used berry during normal playtrough?

the healing ones are somewhat useful early on until you get permanent held items, nothing gamebreaking but they help. but the status ones are great in gym fights, especially paralyze cure berries.

It did have berries anyway if you played it. The "criticism" didn't exist until XY babies got old enough to start posting cause by then the online was shut down.
