So over the last few years my dad has gotten pretty into Pokemon (he's nearly 70). It's a nice casual ground we can bond over the phone with as we rarely see each other in person and it's always entertaining to hear his takes. He's done SWSH, BDSP, and SV but the old coot is getting filtered by PLA, opting to skip it entirely until very recently. He's not a gamer, so traditional pokemon is the perfect pace for him whereas Legends has him stressing over the realtime reaction elements (even if they are only minor, it's a big leap for him).
What advice would you give him to help streamline the experience and overcome the more troublesome hurdles so he can get comfy and have fun?
