They must include dating sim mechanics in future Pokémon games. It's the only way this franchise could survive.

Exactly. There is literal romance drama in the BB League Club, and every rival/friend character is lowkey thirsty for the MC. And the whole "inviting characters to the league club to get to know them a bit more personally" is very similar to the Lodge in PoMas, which is basically just a family friendly dating sim.
Really feels like they were testing the waters, and people who played the game had a pretty positive response to the characters. So I believe gen 10 will dare to go a step further.

I mean Pokémon will never do an actually horny VN. They would also never go as far as Persona or FE where you can date your teacher or whatever. The furthest they'd ever go is something like being able to pick 1 out of a bunch of rivals that you can go on a "date" with and unlock bonus dialogue or some shit. There wouldn't even be any handholding. GF is deadly afraid of both controversies and alienating their young players, so it's never gonna have an unambiguous relationship in the main titles.
