You should have your own kind of fun with them
I was building a varied team for my Emerald run with a plan to get natures that fit for one of each contest category and I decided to use a Bellossom to fill in a grass niche (and because she cute).
Originally I wanted to use her for the cute contest but I was out catching Oddishes and caught a "Lonely" one with a premier ball. I thought "Man, I'm lonely too" and instantly bonded with her. Now instead of a "Cute" Bellossom, I have a "Cool" Bellossom and I quickly fell in love with the juxtaposition of a "cute" pokemon going for a "cool" and tough aura.
I named her Havana and decked her out with "cool" type moves like Bullet Seed and Solar Beam. Which actually worked amazing for her. Also Sleep Powder because cocaine works with the Cuban mafia schema. I had her use Cut during the main campaign, deleted it later on (using HMs on your main pokemon and then just deleting them later instead of using an HM slave is how the game is meant to be played). Decided to keep Moonlight on her.
Bullet Seed and Solar Beam with a extremely high Cool sheen and the Red Scarf were more than enough to win all the contests easily and get the painting for her.
Contests are GOAT and I'm glad an alternative to battling exists.
