>>56502104Thank you for the examples Anon! Dialogue generally sounds a lot more straight-forward and less sugar-coated to me. The "stupid cow" part is very spicy and I'd normally never expect to see something like that in a Pokémon game. Since I found a transcript of the game in all languages on Bulbapedia and I've read through all of Kiki's dialogue, I'll offer a selection of the spiciest translations I've come across in the other languages I'm kind of familiar with.
Spanish, during one of the first Kiki battles:
>Gonna go easy on me out of pity? Hmm, there's something I dislike already.Champ battle, if you send the ogre:
>How dare you bring Ogerpon? Stop rubbing it in my face!Post-game club room Carmine, about Kiki's hair:
>That doesn't suit you at all, you look like a crazy guy.Italian, one of the first Kiki battles:
>I almost peed myself, with this attack. Then there's two instances where he compares (You) to a fairy tale protagonist. Not just any protagonist, a fairy tale one!
After Terapagos:
>I let my anguish overtake me and... I was full of yearning.>I can finally... finally give up.This one is interesting because I believe it's the closest to the Japanese version, and just straight up depressing. This part soundsat least more positive in French, where it's something like "I can finally move on".
Club room:
>My dorm room is a disaster... I'm ashamed just looking at it now. It's the same as when I wasn't right in the head.About the Paldea friends:
>You guys really saved me when you arrived.French, Carmine about (You) and Kiki:
>It's true love between you two, isn't it.Kiki when he's pulling the turtle's crystal out:
>Everything I feel when I see you... is pure jealousy! You never lose battles! You can make friends by snapping your fingers! You can go anywhere you want!I feel like the "pure jealousy" part is also kind of spicy lol.
