Crystal Legacy works pretty well. Once you fix the terrible movesets and shitmon stats the simplicity of gen 2 is kind if charming. No natures or abilities to worry about, just use the mons you like

It's not bait. I've been trying to complete a living dex for a while, and I recently revisited Crystal version. It's nostalgic as fuck, but I find it hard to compose a good team / enjoy the game as much when the movesets are so poor. It makes many pokemon unusable, and even the usable ones feel compromised.
