But again, just because it happened in PLA doesn't guarantee that it 100% WILL be EXACTLY what happens in PLZA.
Like Megas are returning, and Megas involve Mega Stones. Which are held items.
PLA didn't have held items. Sure, they could easily make some new key item that handles Mega Evolution. But they could also just allow held items.

Why hope for something in Gen 10, when it'll be irrelevant in Gen 11? Why wait for Gen 11 when there will be Gen 12?
Plus, there's plenty of Pokemon that stand the test of time and are relevant in Smogon and VGC across generations.
