BDSP is fine. The collision should have been altered to account for smoother analog movement, and it would've been nice if more Platinum teams had been used, but I think they still greatly improved on the problems I had with the original Diamond and Pearl. I liked being able to catch Heatran, Arceus, and the Ranamas park legendaries which also gave easy access to Regigigas. I did think it was dumb that you have to catch Arceus in PLA to get it in BDSP though.

Rather than good or bad, it was just kinda pointless to me
All other remakes so far did something to change the game, character designs, plot points. And while not all of those changes were good (A lot of ORAS lmao), I could appreciate the effort to make something new
BDSP is just the same old, I could just emulate platinum and not miss out on anything

The real reason Arceus sent you back in PLA was to fix DP through a massive butterfly effect. This "fixed" version of DP was known as Pokemon Platinum.

It didn't need to exist. People forget that the only reason FRLG happened in the first place was because people were unhappy with gen 3's soft dexit. GF realized then that they could make an easy buck by just importing their old games onto new hardware. We got lucky with HGSS, that was lightning in a bottle that would never happen today. Now there's even less reasons for remakes to exist, because the games haven't changed much since the DS era and lots of people prefer the 2D graphics. And even worse, remakes today actively remove fan favorite features. There's just no reason to play these games unless you're a compulsive buyfag.

Only shills compare it to DP to make it seem good. DP is fine. BDSP is objectively trash. It came out fifteen years later and changed nothing. Its console is orders of magnitude stronger. It costs double. THE STANDARDS ARE DIFFERENT. Every remake until then took the task "If this game was made today, what would it look like?" BDSP shoved this philosophy out and literally offers nothing of value. If Platinum came out with changes this scarce it would be shat on. Fuck Switch Shills.

BDSP is fine. Imo overall it's as good as Platinum. Some stuff it does worse but some stuff it does better. It's easily the best pokemon on the switch if we're not counting Legends.

>Models and backgrounds look gorgeous in battle.
>Expanded underground.
>Expanded Amity Square.
>Expanded Battle Tower.
>All pokemon from Gen 1-4 are catchable.
>No cringe gimmicks.
>Trainer customization.
>HMs are fixed.
>Way more rematches that are better.
>Dawn and Lucas fights.
>Has most of the Platinum content.

My only complaints are that it doesn't have the Platinum battle frontier and the expanded Galactic/Cyrus plot line. But I still likes it and the added stuff sorta makes up for it.

This is mostly my opinion. I don't really like Gen VIII and IX styles, I prefer traditional ones. The problem is that it is lacking the best parts of Platinum.
