>>56495455I feel like one thing that I sense when I play his games is his constant emphasis on friendship and love. But to me it just comes across super obnoxious and forced. It feels like he's trying to take off the little edge that Pokémon already had and just makes everything feel like it has no stakes. Because after all, why would I be remotely scared when battling Ultra Necrozma or Eternatus when my Pokémon can just tough it out anyway because of the power of love and friendship!
I feel like part of the reason why a lot of people liked Legends Arceus so much is because it was free from a lot of the Ohmori story tropes. There was no retarded theming like being in a school, or being in a sports league or on vacation. There's wasn't a heavy focus on friendship and love to the point of making the world feel like a hugbox. It was more focused on adventure. Obviously the game wasnt anywhere near perfect, but when I was playing it certainly felt noticeably different. When you're playing an Ohmori game, idk what it is but you just know you're playing an Ohmori-led game. And I'm ready to move on from his formula desu
