What are the unluckiest things that can happen to you in pokemon?
For example
>getting a shiny gyarados in GSC/HGSS that isn't the gifted one

Shinies like Graveler that have self-destruct or a kill themselves with a recoil move, or die because of a sandstorm in the wild area in SwSh. You can potentially deal with these scenarios, but I'm usually not carrying a Golduck around or whatever.

On this topic, I caught a full odds shiny Gyarados in Pearl. Was a god in school. The HGSS came out.

How many times has the AI ever crit you in a row from moves that don't have higher crit chances? I'm not counting gen 1 because crits are tied to base speed. For me, it was four from GSC Lance.

This is very common,I got 2 shiny gligar in a horde battle once, the shiny seed is generated in a way that its likely to get two in a row unless something else (like reloading or idk) resets the seed. So an SOS or horde battle may fullfil that condition.

A few years ago I randomly found a shiny zubat in my copy of emerald. One of the only reasons why I even bought emerald in the first place was to abuse the rng to get more shinies. The zubat was paralyzed and it still didn’t stay in the damn ball. I had one pokeball left so it was either potentially waste it and be fucked or try to bring its hp down. I really wanted to kill myself after I used cut to bring the zubat’s hp down and my lairon landed a crit, killing the thing. I hate lairon now

I've missed 95% accurate Tackle five times in a row, without having my accuracy lowered or my opponent raising it's evasion.

It happened when I was a kid and I actually cried because I had a shiny Mewtwo on it, a legit one by sheer luck. It was traded from my Yellow cart

since shininess is determined by stats, a Gen 1 pokemon can be shiny. It doesn't appear shiny of course unless traded over to Gen 2.

One time I got a "save data cannot be accessed" error on a copy of White 2 that I had a full odds shiny on. It ended up going back to normal at some point before going back to giving errors more recently but everything I valued is long off the cartridge now so it's not that bad.

I remember getting a shiny magicarp in that dragon cavern where you need surf to get in the middle in Crystal.
I was pissed.
