>>56505116this is bait, but I have some insight.
I never grew up with Digimon, but I said 'fuck it, pokemon is shit, let's take the DigiPill.'
CyberSleuth, which is the closest you'll get to a good Digimon Game is... mediocre. Like, a solid 6/10. Literally as good as SwSh.
The two main 'friends', are the most shallow and annoying characters. (I grew to like the bancho cop, and the NPC outside the bookstore who I'd pass so many times and wish her luck, because she's trying so hard to be a bookstore NPC)
Digimon will never be good, because Tamagotchi isn't meant to be fun. It's meant to be a chore.
Raising pets is a chore.
So I talk to my Digimon friend who always says Digimon is better than Pokemon, and ask her about it. And her reply was,
"Oh, I never played the games. Digimon is just better."
Which was such a perfect answer as to what the generic Digimon fan is. Not a gamer, a dreamer.
The anime is fine. And then it's lame. And then it's okay. And the ghost one I only saw a few episodes of, but it's a 'Monster of the Week' anime, which works if you turn your brain off and try not to think of the giant leaps you have to make to suspend your disbelief for the universe to even work on its own standards before verisimilitude completely falls apart, and you don't care about the characters or plot anymore.
