Underrated E4 member. I like a lot of his sets, like his Mr Mime that sets screens, his unorthodox Medicham that doesn't use any Psychic move and is instead built more like a Fighting type with a lot of coverage, and his Bronzong which can be pretty frustrating if you have no Fire coverage. Can't believe people write him off as a Will ripoff as if Will has anything interesting going on.

Most DPP NPCs are kinda bland in a way, I think its the art style. He'd look kino in the Gen 1/2 artstyle. BDSP really could've done a lot but, well, you know, BDSP.

Gen III had this issue too, outside of May everyone in Gen III was incredibly underwhelming and just felt like it lost the aesthetic Gen I and II had. Even if the franchise got kiddier with Gen V, the art style improved at least

Not only does he receive more special characterization in the form of his book-readings than most named NPCs get, but he is also just generally one of the coolest designs in the series.

They screwed Lucian over by not giving him a maximally appropriate team.

Gallade, Bronzong, for sure, and then the rest could have been more finely tuned for the kind of character he is. Like a Slowking.

I thought Alakazam and Girafarig fit him well. Given that his whole thing is intelligence and perception, Metagross would've been a good choice for his rematch teams.

And Alakazam represents occultism, which does not fit him either.

Metagross is a robot, which isn't suitable either.
