If they're titling the new game in the same imprint as the last entry, it stands to reason it will behave similarly to that, rather than go do something new. And if you weren't such an MDMA addled retard, you'd notice the funky electronic music was accompanied by wireframe buildings on a blue background, which is how building and city planners show the dimensions of buildings planned for construction and that the entire wireframe model of the city fell back into an overhead view of street plans detailing the layout of the new Kalos, indicating like the blurb said the project hasn't started and the city is under construction.

The very first sentence from PLA reveal trailer was "this is a story from long long time ago", same with the info blurb on PLA site. In PLZA? They tell you that new adventure waits in Lumiose city where Urban Redevelopment Plan is underway. They dont say past Lumiose. And its not development of the city but Urban Redevelopment which is exactly what happened to Mauville anfd how they call it in ORAS

In effect, establishing the setting as a time prior to modern day Lumiose. They haven't planned to release this early, which is why they haven't given us chapter and verse over it (it was revealed to assuage yearning for a new game from fans over this year, which most likely is gonna be a gap year) but what the did say was we're joining an urban redevelopment plan and that with the plans still being just plans still points to its setting. We'll see who's correct on Pokémon day.

Yep, they show hand drawn plans and later on a digital presentation based on it. Why would ANYONE in the past knew how Lumiose in 2010s or 2020s will actually look like? Given that this is a fictional city and not its real counterpart (therefore they can change architecture and introduce some historically inaccurate buildings), the PLZA trailer shows architecture that mostly lines up with late 1800s/early 1900s Western European cities and Paris was indeed rebuilt in the second half of the 20th Century, so that lines up.

Blueprint was invented in 1842, by the way.

The same way they justify why you simply can’t just go to other region, literally nothing. The city will be on a much bigger scale than it was on the 3DS so it’s not like people are going to think it’s unreasonable for them to explore outside Lumiose.

Saying the schematics from the trailer are the city we see in XY has to be the biggest stretch of the decade. There's no way to transform or rotate the Z-A layout into the XY one even if you go off of the canal.

Now that doesnt mean PLZA is XY sequel but there is that possibility. Also lets be real: An actual sequel for XY wouldnt make much sense so many years later but a sequel covered with a fresh paint of new unique gameplay mechanics and style...that makes things different.
