it does though
sometimes it just decides you've won enough and then screwed you over with a ridiculous series of events in a battle
just implausible that it would be organic, with how frequently it happens

but every so often as you keep progressing the opponents will be reset and you'll start fighting babby and shitmons again despite not losing
i wonder if the counter being stuck at 9999 would prevent that reset from happening now. just group 3 mons non stop now

I tested it in gen 7 with a team consisting of
Garchomp
Dragonite
Mega Salamence
I was constantly put against full ice teams, but since ice sucks it usually wasn't an issue.
One glaceon got 'lucky' enough to land 3x quickclaw blizzards(70% accuracy) in a row though.

None of my other teams ever encountered full ice teams.
