1st stages are fine, its the evolutions and lack of 3rd stage that really just leaves a 'Why do these exist?' kind of feeling. Seems like they wanted to do the whole 'two starters' idea they had in Gen 6 but couldn't commit to it.

They are ok, and the evos aren't really ugly, but they are relatively weak for a stone evo. Maybe a buff, or making the 2nd evo a level one, and giving them a 3rd stone evo would make them better.
