Go back to school, take more remedial maths classes. I'll also add, they're absolutely going to add some shit that lives in the routes around Lumiose in X, whatever families that get new Megas that aren't native to the lands surrounding Lumiose and whatever regionals they feel like adding with even potential entirely brand new pokémon on top. 260's well within reach, all depends how much Game Freak want to push towards it vs how much they want to keep back for next Gen (regarding regionals or new 'mons).

They're good pokemon though. Watchog learns Hypnosis early. How is that not helpful? And the monkeys are fast and tricky, useful early on. Do you never have pokemon that help you out early even if you plan to replace them? Some pokemon just fill that role, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Lilipup is right there... Munna is solid
The monkeys serve a purpose and get you elemental attacks early on until better choices open up, and you can power spike evolve them as soon as you hit Castelia
Unova is funny in that the elemental mons are your early game carries and the bugs are the ones that come into their own later

I'd say Z-A would likely be the one Legends game with 300+ solely because such a large Pokédex at its base (450/721) is Kalos' one positive identity factor people remember rather fondly after the PSS for Gen VI as a whole, hence why people have been especially upset at XY's (lack of) difficulty more than any other (relatively) easy Pokémon game since.

Them shoving tons of Pokemon on every route was a terrible decision.
The new Pokemon were completely overshadowed by all the nostalgia pandering from all the old mons popping up everywhere, and an already easy game made even simpler by giving you shit like Bagon and Larvitar before the second gym.
I hope they scale that shit back

NTA but it's certainly possible for a few hundred species of Pokemon to be in the city that's the scale of four to five zones from PLA. Even if it's smaller than that they can make Pokemon migrate in and out of the cities with a seasons system.
