All the people who made fakemon designs presenting it as something menacing, or majestic - almost always a winged draconic snake - were completely missing the point.

A pair of little doll-like mice that, canonically, no one knows where the babies come from - with the game even skipping the evolution animation if it evolves from a battle you never used it in. My only complaint is that it should always skip the animation, and just let you know it evolved in some other way.
