>>56529587For me the funniest part is when they interviewed a group of Indians about what bothered them about Apu, and the unanimous answer was his accent, because they argue they don't speak like that, the funny thing is that they actually sound that way, obviously with variations, but to western ears it's very pronounced, you can see it on YT, it's like when an East Asian gets offended if they're drawn with small eyes.
I understand that exaggerated parody is offensive, but one must also be aware of their reality and not get aggressive when someone points out the obvious.
