Why do borts accuse anyone that criticizes the Unova games of being a genwunner?

Most of the genwun crowd checked out after Johto and basically went extinct after Sinnoh. A few came back for XY but they immediately fucked off again. Why is this ghost living rent free in your heads?

Gen 5 were the last decent Pokemon games.

Everything wrong with Pokemon today has been gen 6's fault.

It was the gen that told game freak they don't have to put effort into any games and can just shit out whatever with some stupid gimmick each game because they are out of actual new ideas.

Because back when Gen 5 came out the 90s nostalgia was beginning to kick off so normies were looking at Pokemon again. They saw Vanilluxe and Garbodor and sperged out over social media over it. You've probably seen those old cherry picked memes about gen 1 mons vs gen 5 mons, well those were everywhere on in the normie sphere(Facebook, Twitter, Reddit etc.). Veepee was one of the few places that actually liked Gen 5. The genwunners eventually moved on after the GO fad died out.
