The only sinnoh pokemon you can find in the wild in platinum before the 8th gym (without weird long challenges like spiritomb or hippopotas) are:

I used the team you posted, exactly, more than twice. I enjoyed it every time. Cause Sinnoh is a good region that still had a sense of exploration and a hint of challenge, and this team just feels good to run it with, undoubtedly.
it says something about how cool Staraptor, Roserade, Garchomp, Luxray and Glaceon are, all sinnoh pokemon of course, that everybody picked them. Not just because they're convenient though - Gyarados, Alakazam, etc the whole Kanto pack came along and are still great and easy to find (they're fucking everywhere) yet EVERYBODY picked the based Sinnoh mons.

Thats also like 17 pokemon not counting Giratina, enough for almost 3 completely different teams, and that's with you arbitrarily excluding some. Also, it's autistic to think you can't mix some old gen mons on your team, especially on replays. Don't you want to see how they've changed or gotten better, especially with the split?

which ds emulator can just run in two instances and emulate the local wireless? i haven't used one in a while and had to reset my pc this year, so i'll have to get a new one anyway. so you're saying it's possible to do local trade, underground, and everything in ds? is it also possible to do the save import in BW2? i know Im asking, if you feel like throwing a bone I'd appreciate it. last i had checked it seemed it wasn't possible and everyone recommended pkhex..

Catching Spiritomb by yourself is still extremely tedious and takes a while. I can attest since I was retarded enough to do it.

Spiritomb is not even that good since it's extremely slow.

MelonDS is able to do all the online stuff.

Considering Gen 4 is one of the better selling generations, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people whose first game was Diamond and Pearl ended up filling their teams with Kantomons.
