There was no point evolving something people loved for it being itself. M-Flygon, they dropped the idea for consideration for ORAS because of Sugi's block. Sugi's gone so maybe the idea is dead. But maybe Ohmori handed the brief to the new design team as he wanted to add new Megas and remembered Flygon was supposed to get one until it got too late in the cycle to accept it. Until we actually know more about L: Z-A|, it is kinda all up in the air. May be new megas, might just be all the existing ones. But definitively excluding something because of ancient history in video game terms is folly. Few expected the next new game to take us to Kalos after all.
