I still can't think of a good reason why a normal type attack was removed? Because of Aerialate/Refrigerate? Who cares?

Dark Types have too much going for them, but Pursuit's function could be reused for a different type.

Return/Frustration was always "this is a physical mon with no other high BP moves so I slap return on it cause everything learns that"
For an in-game run though, it was fun that it does more the higher your friendship, but i just wouldn't teach it to my mon til friendship was maxed anyway.

Signal Beam is the most baffling considering its power and distribution, similarly for Power-up Punch
Snatch is the perfect counter to Prankster Tailwind that the game desperately needs since gen 8
Flame Burst is an interesting mechanic that they just gave up on, should have been buffed instead if people weren't using it

I don't get why either of them were removed. They're unique moves and Normal-types aren't even that strong. With megas removed there aren't even any particularly powerful -ate users too.

Well yeah. Why keep something that doesn't play nicely with new mechanics, when they're implementing the new mechanics regardless. It's the difference between them making Pokémon for kids and BamCo making digimon for teens and young adults - kids don't care Eevee can't learn return, because Eevee loves them and tries its hardest in battle all the same. I just find it amazing you lot bitch over friendship mechanics, yet cry a friendship-mechanics move was deleted, let alone deleted to improve the mechanics as a whole.

They folded affection into it so they both increase at the same time. Clearly whatever way they coded return didn't react nicely to that, they couldn't sort it and cut it. Hopefully L: Z-A gives Lop something stronger to abuse with its mega.
