>>56559171If we go by pure in-game mechanics and assume that lions are normal type with 60-ish in every stat, then the biggest problem becomes PP. You need a way to replenish PP, and need a way to replenish PP replenisher, and that means Leppa and Harvest. Recycle is also an option but it's clunky. You also need to either outspeed or outheal lions. Also, preferrably, you gotta oneshot lions, Harvest is likely to proc within 10 turns you get but on a scale of billion increasing your effectiveness two-fold is worth it even for something that can theoretically battle forever.
Surprisingly enough, all our options are very similar. Every single one gets Giga Drain, Trailblaze, Growth and Protect, so if they can be set up before lions chip them down, you get unstoppable lion-draining machines. Protect is a universal "net positive" Leppa-fishing move, you use one Leppa to get 10 turns of no Struggle in return for it almost always triggering Harvest earlier than 10 turns. If Protect is low on PP, use it until it's out because you want to always have a few stored. Beyond that:
>AbrolivaLions repeatedly proccing Seed Sower will act as pseudo-Ingrain. Unfortunately, no way to boost defense to make terrain outheal lions, but if playing slow, Strength Sap and Protect can stall out Harvest non-procs.
>TrevenantDrain Punch and potentially immune to Normal lions. But if not immune, then has same problem of no defense boosting moves, might get eaten by lions eventually if it gets unlucky with leppa procs, though having a backup drain move helps a lot. Can't effectively utilize Ingrain. Has Curse but it's a Ghost type. Really suffers if lions' bite is actually Crunch.
>TropiusProper Curse and Calm Mind. Can become unkillable after a few rounds of
lions.GD+either Protect or Trailblaze in remaining slots.
>ExeggsIngrain, Curse and CM, can become unkillable to the point that Ingrain alone outheals any damage done. If Crunch, then reg suffers, alolan doesn't care.
