>>56562606>kanto shillingyeah, I see screenshots for the kanto pandering. The posters and the floor tiles are a popular image that goes around. It sort of bothers me, but It's not like we weren't handed Kanto starters in XY, or the literal "Kanto/Johto Town" in SM.
>linearAll of the games feel linear to me in the sense that: You go from A to B. There is a "Key" to progress that must be obtained, you go to a side area between A and B (or backtrack, like delivering Oak's Parcel), the "Key" unlocks, and you progress forward. And then do exactly the same between B and C.
>>56562620>gen 8 wins by a landslide in the graphical departmentThat's my main gripe. Gen 9 feels like they got a whole new art director. And I find the monster design to be pretty bad, but all of the trainers to be really ugly. Again, personal preference. Not everything needs to be coomer bait, but the models have a doll-like quality to them. They're creepy. And the big-footed lady has these big eyes compared to other models, and it's weird? Idk.
>no dungeonsAgain, it's been like that for a bit. XY had that crystal cave? but it was a trip in, and then back out. I remember getting to the Volcano in SM and wanting a huge cave section to the top, and it just warps you up there. like... cool. I guess caves with sliding block puzzles are outdated now?
But I guess it sounds like SV just has more game to it, and more pokemon. Better writing. And room for more player autonomy. I'm not really sold on either. But I think I see some differences now.
Like SV has... three sub-plots? The gang, the giant pokemon, and the Pokemon league? Which is cool, I guess.
thanks for the insight
