The big issue people will bring up basically just boils down to politics. We've got some serious issues with militant African-centrism messing up our culture right now, and it's corrupting hobbies here in the west and much of what Japan's putting out for here too.

You've never seen Gone with the Wind? The "jolly/sassy fat black grandma slave that takes care of the white family's food, house and kids" used to be a common trope back in the day. My guess is a lot of those movies are considered classics in japan, and they didn't think twice about it, with superficial thinking you wouldn't think there's anything wrong with a happy motherly black woman.
The apron itself isn't the problem, but removing it is a good enough fix to not cause too much controversy, Lenora herself isn't really a racist stereotype.

It's weird to call it a stereotype because stereotype implies you're associating a negative aspect with a group of people, but in this case it's more like painting a negative thing (house slavery) in a positive light (she's a happy go lucky lady who loves serving her white masters)
It also has little historical reference as most house slaves were on the younger sides (like babysitters)

the apron by itself isn't the problem, but rather, her design as a whole is reminiscent of the Mammy character in old movies, which was a slave. Removing the apron makes it better simply because it disassociates her from house work, which the Mammy characters do.

No, if wearing an apron is somehow racist because it's a black woman doing it then I feel like that says more about the people observing it than the design itself.
Next thing you know an Indian woman marrying a British man is gonna be racist to outside observers because of its ties to imperialism and colonisation or an Asian person piloting a plane is going to be racist because its a Pearl Harbour callback.
It's a perfectly normal, innocuous thing that you would have to be retarded to construe as racist.

no.
i had a "mammy" when i was young who was very stereotypical (overweight, wore an apron, spoke in aave) and she was very kind to me. i've never thought of her as lesser to me.

people who embody this stereotype exist, and trying to pretend they don't by making characters like this forbidden in media, even when they are presented in good faith as in lenora's case, is just a weird anti-white vie for power on the part of cringey overly-sensitive special interest groups, like the naacp, as they unreasonably try to tell people what they can and cant do or say.
