>>56576045So I’ll put my two cents here. This could be talking about either side.
I can absolutely see amourshippers sending death threats for not getting to see Ash impregnate Serena on screen, as there has been disappointment on how the episode had handled Serena’s return (even though just because westerners can’t into subtlety and metaphors) on the side of Serena fans. Plus there’s the language of “There are always a few individually attached individuals” can be seen as pretty damning.
There are doubts, however, as Yajima didn’t work on the episode, and in terms of Serena fans, Yajima is pretty much the messiah when it comes to that, so that makes less sense as to why he’d receive threats.
On the other hand, it could be referring to the hatebase that Serena gets as during JN, there was an absolutely absurd amount of anti-Serena shitposting going on both here and Twitter. Need I remind you of the sheer amount of edits and threads people here have made to spite Serena back then? Dawnfags and Gohfags were especially heinous with this. However, those people take the opposite approach with Serena’s episode (with out of context screencaps of Ash running past Serena) and claiming that Serena’s lack of interaction with Ash is the death kneel of the ship (which anyone with half a brain would find laughable).
I kind of think that with the language, the convo was referring to amourshippers, but I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest if it was referring to the hatebase. Just my two cents. I will say that Serena is pretty unique in the fact that her hatebase is utterly gigantic, and there are people out there who always go out of their way to draw Serena in demeaning positions, and people who legit commission Serena NTR and purposefully tag amourshipping tags on them.
