And then if they didn't remove Ash from the anime, it could have been the literal Team Rocket mascot mon of the generation, sort of like their version of having Indigo league Charizard that disobeys them and does its own thing/is Giovanni's pokémon or some other OT.
Would be a good reason to have a Rocket arc where they try to steal badges to get it to obey them properly.
Alas, none of this shall ever be. And most of these leaks just prove that there's been a reason the games of the past took years to make bc some of their beta designs are genuinely horrendous and unmarketable, with only a few good exceptions.
