the leak says "Kyojin Densetsu" or Legendary Giants. the name of the trio in Ruby/Sapphire and the remakes is "Kyojin Densetsu" or Legendary Giants.

They are literally all one type and made of that element, just like the plates. Regigigas is even holding the lost "Blank Plate" in Legends Arceus. All signs point to the Regigigas being a remaining Giant from it that Arceus punished with Slow Start that is making more of his kind using physical material in the material world.

I think Regigigas was the only one that was born from a giant's corpse and Arceus' blood here. The rest are Regigigas' own creation

Groundon, Kyogre and Rayquaza may actually be the giants

There were Regigigas of every pokemon type and they all attacked Arceus when she was born. Areceus killed them all until they were nothing but plates with the exception of Regigigas who arceus cursed and punished with the creation of the continents.

Regigigas has been making little regis to either usurp Arceus or just as a reminder of the brother he lost giving them new form.

Or maybe it just has that ability due to being harmed by Arceus kicking its ass.
If this is true that means there were originally one regi per type and they should all be 670 bst with no drawback, basically box legend tier.
The regis we have in the games are just Regigigas creating new, weaker versions of its old companions
