It's actually $16 per year. Never bought any of these shit storage services but I do wonder what happens to the people who transfer their Pokemon and then stop paying for Home. I remember reading that Pokemon Bank would spitefully wipe all your mons without warning if you stopped paying for it at any point

This is why I stopped caring about transfering up pokemon.
If I wanted to I'll just save edit them in, keeping them in both the original game and the new one for free.

The new games just reset all your moves and shit anyway so its not like there is even anything worth transfering up anymore.

This is not true, unless you're trying to bring in moves that have been deleted from several mons learnsets, like Scald(fuck that move) or Toxic(fuck this move being on everything too), or moves that were removed completely during Dexit, like Pursuit and Hidden Power(fuck this move too)
Beyond those edge cases, any moves, including egg moves can be kept on your mon as you move from game to game, you just have to select the "change moves" option because it defaults to a mon's base learn set at that level in the particular game you're moving too

All my Pokemon are stuck on Sun, and I am glad for it.
I feel bad for those who didn't hear the uproar about some pokemon being cut due to no national dex, which means any mons not in sw/sh would be stuck on home.

I do because $15 is nothing. Home is the only way you can have a real national dex for the switch games. And I like dumping lots of random pokemon go mons to use in surprise trades hoping to get something interesting because it's less effort than catching random pokemon in normal games.

1. It isn't about the money, it's the value and in Home's case it's bad for pre-switch games. If you only use it for the switch games, then I guess I have no quarrel with that.
2. $5-20 isn't a lot, but why use that low amount to say "I'm rich"? It's not a $2000 gaming PC or a sports car. It's a subscription.
I can only conclude it to be really dumb people who will pay for anything, or actual shills trying to make you feel bad with the type of marketing you see in parody ads where it says "you are ugly, but if you buy our car, you will be better"
